When we were doing the New York Beauty quilt along a little swap got put together and I couldn't say no. So my partner wanted a pillow and I used the first block I did for my tutorial as a jumping off point. As I played with my fabrics I decided to go with my favorite color scheme (and favorite designer).
The binding and backing fabric were actually some I had in my stash that I had just bought for fun. And they worked so perfectly (both from Amy Butler's Lark collection).
You may be seeing a skirt made out of this fabric very soon! I just love it!
And I like the suprise pop of pinks and oranges on the back with the blues and greens.
I didn't want to take away from the design with too much quilting, so I just did a straight line (without a walking foot) around the major seams. I love the way it turned out.
I really hope my partner loves it as much as I do. And now I need to make one for myself!
What did you finish this week?
Linky Rules. Please follow along for a fun party!
1. Please write the post for sew & tell - or add a blurb mentioning

you are linking to a post with your own tutorial, please make sure it
was a finish from this week and that the completed project is shown
first.
2. One linky per person. (please put multiple projects in one post.)
3. Link to your specific post. (See here for permalink instructions - or email me.)
4. Link back here with a link or a button (HTML on my sidebar).

AMY!!!!! How will you send that off to ME ;o) I am afraid I would have to stash that away for me if I made it!!!!! Really GREAT JOB!!!!!
That pillow is spectacular, Amy!
Aah, it turned out so beautifully! Well done!
Wow this pillow is fabulous. I love the color graduation. And btw, my apologies once again, for forgetting to put my blog name instead of project :-{
*sigh* when every one of these has been appearing, I've been loudly wailing 'WHY DID I SAY NO?!' even if I did know it would have caused a complete mental breakdown with all the things I had on. It's fabulous, your partner will love it (and if not, I can send you my address ;o) )
Beautiful finish...love the backing!
Your pillow turned out beautiful! I love the colors.
Wow your points are perfect!! Yummy pillow! Great projects linked up as well. Are you able to make more than 15 letters for the title so we can put out blog names in full?? 15 letters isn't much!
Gorgeous pillow! Those are my favorite colors, too. Your partner is going to LOVE it!!
This is absolutely beautiful, Amy! One of the secrets I've learned from doing these is to have the tips of the points end about 1/8 inch from the edge (or the seam of the next fabric). Very few people even notice, but it's very helpful in avoiding cutting off the tips.--Not that you seem to have had a problem with that! Great precision work!
Amy, I LOVE your New York Beauty!!!! I have enjoyed watching your progress on Instagram (which I haven't quite figured out btw), and am so happy you chose these fabrics.
I just love how your pillow turned out Amy! So perfect!
