I struggle with keeping my sewing space neat and orderly. Raise your hand if you know what I'm talking about.
Okay, now that we all know we're not alone... (right?) I'll share an embarrassing picture, again. I've done this before...
This is my former computer desk that was converted into my sewing desk. It's too big, too open and too easily cluttered. Plus it took up TOO much room in my sewing space and blocked the only wall in the room (it's the attached sunroom). I decided after getting my new (to me) sewing cabinet that I needed to get rid of this desk. I finally figured out that I need a small sewing desk and a big work table (i.e. my dining room table).
I had a friend who had expressed interest in buying my desk if I ever wanted to sell. She's far more organized than me and I was happy to let her have it. Open shelving and my "organizing style", or lack thereof, do not mix!
When I texted her she said she could pick it up the next day! I had to get busy. This desk is so alluring when it's all cleaned off!!
And now I have all this free space and room to move! And a bunch of stuff to figure out where it goes.
Go take a picture of your sewing space RIGHT now. In it's current state. Let's clean up together! I am working out the details, but we will have a before and after sewing space spring cleaning sew & tell in a few weeks! And I'm working on prizes, and a button, like I said. The details.
Stay tuned! And really get a good before photo - you'll love seeing the difference a little cleaning up can do!

Great idea. I cringe at the suggestion ;0
I would take a pic right now, but my sewing table ate my camera and I can't............
But I will take one tomorrow when the light's better! What a great idea!!
what a great idea! I have been wanting to spruce up my sewing room, and this could be the motivation I need. A true, un-altered pic of my room right now would be a bit embarassing, though... :)
I'm in! Your space looks sooo pretty compared to mine. Yikes!
OK. I'm in. I won't take a picture until tomorrow, though, when the light is better. I promise not to clean up before I take the picture. I got a new sewing table for Christmas. I've been using both the old and the new table and there's one table too many in my crowded space. So, count me in.

Why not, my sewing room could use some TLC. Thanks for the push! Smiles~Beth
This is a fabulous idea!!
What a great nudge. :0)
I hope you are having a nice week.
I so understand the clean sewing room issue. I'll try to take a picture tonight or tomorrow and post about it soon. I've been wanting to but keep putting it off.
Just found your blog via http://www.confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/
Enjoyed the post. I'm now a follower.
I cleaned mine over new year, and had a complete rearrangement, and amazingly it's still pretty much as tidy as it was then... Guess it's just a case of trying everything til you find the work space that suits you! It's only taken me, oooh, 15 years...
lol. I took a picture of mine. miraculously, it's pretty contained. Today! I'm working on making it down the Monday after Easter. I'll keep in touch.
Oh my gosh...I love this idea. I am so going to take a picture right now. However, my challenge will be to actually clean it up. Haha. But it might just happen, my boys are begging me for playdates and I tell them 'not until the house is cleaned up'.
I wish I could join you. My son and DIL have my craft studio loaded up with their boxes. Good thing, they are moving out Friday so I might have it back next week. Then on to getting it back organized.
