I didn't know she had held onto it but it found it's way to my house a year or so ago.
My oldest found it in the closet and wants to wear it every day!
It's true, we might look a little bit alike. I really think it's that dress that inspired me to make this one for her earlier this year.
Although in true amylouwho fashion, the one I made has an elastic neck and no zippers or bias tape finishing. The one my mom made? Zippers, trim, bias finished edge, ruffle, you get the idea.
And I really ought to get a picture of her in the new one before she outgrows it, no?

Wow she looks a LOT like you! And how awesome that a treasured dress is treasured again and inspiration for something new As well
what a gorgeous little dress...i love that she is just the right size to wear it.
cute cute! i love that she loves the one your mom made. and i love your version.
Sweet! I have dresses that my Oma made for me that my girls can fit into now. But they just use them for dress-up clothes. The one your mom made actually still looks really good.
So cute! You really took good care of that dress.
That's the most adorable thing I've heard! How sweet is that... very cool.
Precious! I love the fabrics you chose. Yes, she does look a LOT like you!
i think i've used that pattern for ruby's dresses -- i love things w/o zippers too! gotta love elastic necklines. :)
thanks again for organizing last night - yay!
Love that your mom kept one of your dresses and now your daughter loves it. the one you made is beautiful-is there a pattern for it? Have a two year old that is in " I only want to wear dresses phase"
