other uses for your omnigrip 24" ruler

I have to get a few things off my chest first.  I had to do the glucose test today.  Gag.  AND get a rhogam shot in my butt.  Delightful.  This afternoon I had to take darling girl to get her 2 flu shots.  Lots of tears.  About 2 hours later, we got to go to the ER after she cut her eye open on the dresser.  It's been a long day.  I meant to blog this earlier, but that didn't happen.

On the brighter side, I ordered a kit to make this quilt from Amy!  It's so cute!

And in case you were wondering what else your quilting ruler is good for...

This weekend we used it to measure the snowfall.

And to make sure the cinnamon roll dough was rolled out to the right size.

We got so much snow again over the weekend.  My poor blue table...

although she does look quite pretty with the contrasting white

And I don't know who has more fun out there, him or them.  I do know I need to train them in the ways of watching their backs!

More snow tomorrow! Crazy.

I am so sorry you had such a crazy day! I just have to say that I love the last picture. I hope the snowball didn't take out the poor, unsuspecting toddler. Great blog! I just became your newest follower. :)

ouch, sorry about the shot! and the glucose test! I cried when I had to get a steroid shot (yes, in the bum) before my preemie baby was born.

The quilt's going to be so pretty!

That's quite the multi-purpose tool you have! My yard stick is currently out in the snow waiting to measure the next snowfall.

OH my gosh! A sewing blogger who finally lives on the east coast! We are in the same boat with the snow! I think we got about 19 inches over the weekend and now they are calling for another 12-18! We live in New Jersey! My husband thinks it is so crazy because he is from Florida!

Ps Love your Blog!

That's the way life goes... but I hope everyone is doing better.

The snow looks so lovely and fun! It would be me in your husband's place if we had snow like that.

Have a great one!

OH what a day! Those are the kind we'll look back on and either laugh or feel extremely heroic that we survived. Good luck with all that snow!!

I wanted a kit, too! But I was too late to even get a couple of Amy's fabric packs. That will be a load of sunshine when it arrives!

Good luck with your snow - it's headed our way tonight.

Great pics, love use of ruler! It made me better to hear about your day, so I am counting my blessings because although I had to fish a much loved train out of the toilet (ohhh too much info!), Mr1yr didnt end up in ER despite Mr3yr wrestling him off the couch onto the tiled floor (tears all around) and while we dont have snow we have 38C heat (day time but overnight "low" is 26C) - but we do have air con and ceiling fans in the bedrooms!
Hope tommorow is a better day, happy quilting, Sue

Mercy! That is a crazy day! And all that snow on top of it! I hope you have had some better days since then and are using your snow time for some good ol' sewing time! :)

I love the ruler use! I am so so particular about keeping it super clean, but this looks like fun. I think I need to loosen up.

I miss snow! This looks like great family time. We have to sled on the carpet in a laundry basket. :)

We all have days like that! Hope tomorrow treats you better.

I am not going to lie, all that snow, though I am sure it is costing the local governments millions in snow removal, looks like absolute heaven! Snow days are my very favorite. They just make me want to make hot soup and sew something! Dear Utah.... could you get with the program already?

I tried to take that glucose test - and I could not! Oh, the quilt is going to be pretty!!!
