I just barely finished up my little friendship bag for the swap that's due on Tuesday. Rachel, of P.S. I Quilt and Moda Bakeshop, wrote a great little tutorial for it.
I'm warning you now though, don't make one if you can't resist small adorable little bags. You will want to make a million more!!
When I realized I could use my Hushabye (Tula Pink) charm pack and some extra yardage I had I was so excited! I think it's adorable! And I really don't want to send it away.
This is my first attempt at free-motion quilting. I hope my partner doesn't notice (or care). It's a little, um, shall we say..... wonky?
But I really love how quilting blends all the different prints together. And how about the inside? The stripe in this collections is SO striking.
I even patchworked the handles from four of the leftover charms.
All in all a fun little bag and I see more in my future. Perfect for hanging on someone's doorknob with a little treat inside!
Now that she helped me model it (so you can see how little it is) she doesn't want to get rid of it either! So, off to the post office. (That's a chore in and of itself!)
Now it's your turn! What did you do this week?
Please follow the sew & tell rules below.
1. Link to a post about a finish you had this week (don't just link to your blog, please!)
2. Link back to this post so more peeps can join in the fun! If it is a post from earlier in the week, just please add a note about sew & tell . Now that we have a button this is super easy - you can just cut and paste the html over on the right sidebar!
3. Enjoy getting motivated and patting each other on the backs in the comments! This is the funnest part about sew & tell - sharing and inspiring!
I will be gone a good part of the day, but I promise I'll come see you when I get back!

the friendship bag is so cute. i too fear that if i make one i will not be able to resist making 10 more. can't wait to see what other have made!
I just bookmarked this pattern this morning before coming here! How weird and cool is that? The bag is too cute, free motion quilting gets easier the more you practice. I wouldn't mail it either...can't you make just one more...and if that one's cute...make another...and another! SIL's are getting this for Christmas!

Just found out about your Sew&Tell from Jodi's blog. Great idea :-)
What a cute bag! I have three crafty things to make in a pay it forward giveaway, and I'm currently on the lookout for potential items - this one is definitely on the list. I think your FMQ looks great, by the way.
it turned out so great! I just finished a larger tote bag and I tried my first free motion quilting on the inside!
so now you know my secret.
get everybody to make one, and then they will be hooked.
:)
{i made some without the handles too!!!}
your bag looks great in hushabye!!!
I like your sew & tell idea. It gives me that added little "umph" to finish up one project each week.
Cute bag -- love Hushabye (but don't have any). Can't wait till the day I can post a finished sew and tell. Soon, I hope :)

That bag is sooo cute! I love your lining fabric too, I think I just bought that same fabric!
I have seen that tutorial and I am making some for my grandaughters and putting little books in them.
Love yours!

Just saw your website from Pleasant Home. Looks like fun. I like the idea of the Sew & Tell. Thanks.
Your bag is too cute! And the free motion quilting looks great, you'll be a pro in no time!
Super cute! I love the soft colors of hush a bye :) And I didn't realize how little the bag was - thanks for that!
I feel like a bad friend (and blogger) I've got nothing to show today, but I'm going to get a post up here real quick. sorry!
I forgot to say - whoohoo on your quilting!! It looks great and will only get better with time :)
I got 2 things done this week ... so hey, why not post both :)
I FINALLY finished the Amy Butler curtains, and made another pair of pajama pants.
OK. This is my first time, and I messed up. The first time I added my name (#17), I entered the URL incorrectly. So #18 works. I am rushing off to a football game, but when I return I look forward to reading all the comments and checking out all the Sew and Tells. I had a great time with mine. Thanks,
Rene'
Love the bag! I have the perfect scraps for it too!! I NEED to make one soon!!
